I Really Like Gardening But This Is The Downfall
I stumbled upon this plant in my lawn fertilizing this morning going to work. It has long green leaves with specks and strips of dirty white all over it. At least a feet tall it resides in its pot safe and sound. I don’t know why but I had the urge of identifying what a plant it may be. I found it somewhat attactive and thought of a nice spot where I can grow this same plant. So I had three questions in mind: What is this plant called? What are its ideal growing conditions and how do I propagate it?So to answer my question I took the liberty of asking the owner of the plant. She was just around watering her other plants so I just asked away. Unfortunately she seems to have forgotten the name of this green baby so I proceeded with my next batch of questions. Luckily she knew the answers this time and told me that If I would want to grow a plant as such I would do best if I put it in bright indirect or curtain-filtered sunlight. Keep it’s soil most of the time and not letting its pot stand in water. She instructed me further that I can propagate it from stem cuttings, from sections of main stems or by air layering. Not having understood most of what she said I felt glad and ready to get a plant the same as what I saw. I even took a picture of it since I thought her plant looks really healthy. Later in the day when I got home I showed my neighbor the picture of “my future plant”. He shrugged and told me “You already have that plant in your backyard”.
